GTBANK PH3 Branch, Port-Harcourt, Rivers state.

About This Project

Client: GT BANK

Project Duration: 16 May 2017 – 23 May 2017

Narration:
Engineering Safety Investigation conducted on the two (2) level bank building, sequel to the repeated observation of vibrations of the bank building by two customers at different times.

Report of the investigation concluded that:

  • There is no evidence that supports the possibility of safety concerns on that branch building
  • The “vibrations” felt by those two customers certainly did not result from a deficiency of the building structural system; they likely point to transient external events such as intense construction demolition or heavy equipment movement in the vicinity of the bank
  • The exposed steel reinforcement in Beam -3 and Slab panel P8 needs to be treated with a bonding agent after wire-brushing and dressed with water-proof cement/sand mortar
  • The enclosing block wall to the server room needs to be carefully dismantled and re-built using engineering clay blocks laid in stretcher bond
