Client: GT BANK
Project Duration: 18 January 2014 to 30 January 2014
Narration:
Engineering Safety Investigation conducted on the two (2) level bank building, sequel to an armed/explosions attack against it.
Report of the investigation concluded that:
- The overall structural integrity of the building remains intact, not impaired in any way by the force of the blast. Specifically, section capacities for ground floor columns at grid points 3/B, 3/C, 3/D, 4/C, 4/D, 5/B, 5/C, 5/D & 6/C all exceed their external actions.
- Flexural & shear capacities for floor beams 2 & 12 are satisfactory against their imposed loads. Likewise, the resistance of Roof beam -7 to its external loads is acceptable.
- Demolitions and repairs need to be carried out on the masonry walls surrounding the entrance door.
- Replacement of the glazing to the front elevation curtain wall and glass blocks at the entrance porch that were shattered by the force of the explosion.
- The suspended ceiling grids in the banking hall that were dislodged must be re-installed in their horizontal positions.
