Narration:

Engineering Safety Investigation conducted on the Two (2) level building, sequel to desire to change its use to a training facility.

Report of the investigation concluded that;

• The existing structure has the capacity to function in a new use as a training facility,
• Change of solid internal block walls to lightweight partitions in a bid to reduce deadweight & limit long-term settlements. (the immediate grounds of this building has already been landscaped),
• Consequently, the timber trusses must likewise be changed to steel trusses; that can span longer openings and further reduce the dead weight to the foundations,
• The cover slab over the stairs should be properly felted, with provision for rainwater drain pipes in at least two points,

Interceptor drainage across the entrance, that slopes towards the two opposite sides should be introduced to prevent inundation of the lower floor.
